Policies

Cancellations and Refunds

All classes are non-refundable, all sales are final. Students are expected to provide 24 hour notice of cancellations to classes. When students purchase a class pass they are able to reschedule future classes 24 hours away or greater. Class Passes have an expiration date, and are not extendable. It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of the expiration date of single classes & class packages. At the discretion of the studio, an extension or class credit may be granted such as in the case of an emergency or medical condition, with the provision of a doctor’s note explaining why participation in the remaining classes is unadvisable. In the event of pregnancy, a gift card may be provided for the remaining sessions.

Restriction of Participation

Students arriving to class in a questionable state of wellness or ability (such as injury), or under influence of alcohol and drugs, will be withdrawn from participation due to concern and risk of their safety and the safety of other students. Students arriving with injury previously undisclosed may forfeit their ability to participate in classes at the instructors discretion. Any changes to health and physical ability such as but not limited to pregnancy, illness, and/or injury may result in the discontinuation of participation in classes. Students are expected to inform their instructor of any changes to their health. Any students exercising unsafe practices or breaking any agreements as outlined in the waivers and policy will receive a single warning / reminder. If unsafe practices or disregard for the agreements outlined in the waivers and policy continue, the student will forfeit their ability to participate and no refunds will be given.

Privacy & Class Conduct

Safety and comfort are of utmost priority, students are expected to be respectful and attentive in classes.  Exercises should be limited to those directed by your instructor.   At times, your instructor may not allow you to attempt a new technique… please understand this decision is for safety reasons as they may not feel comfortable spotting you or they may feel your body is not quite ready to attempt the technique. Cell phones should be turned on silent during class to avoid disruptions. Please keep conversations with classmates respectful - loud conversations are disruptive to your other classmates and may cause you to miss important instruction or exercise cues from your instructor. All intimate body parts must be covered at all times. As students progress they will be expected to wear appropriate attire. If at any time you feel uncomfortable in class, for any reason, please let your instructor know immediately or contact us after class by email or phone.

Photography

Video and photos are permitted during class for the purpose of recording yourself to gain feedback on technique and form. Your instructor may allow you to take photos or videos if you wish. Please keep in mind that your classmates may not want to be in your photo or video – it is important to ask them first or to ensure your image does not contain others in it. The use of photography and video sharing on public and social media platforms is strictly prohibited without explicit consent of any/all parties.

Teaching

Teaching other students is strictly prohibited and a major liability and risk. Only instructors holding Canadian Pole Fitness Association and/or other approved certifications, and up to date instructor insurance are permitted to teach under contract with Ascension Aerials.

Late arrival

Please do not arrive late to classes. If a student is more than five minutes late, the instructor is within their right to withdraw them from participation in the class and they will forfeit their opportunity to learn without refund or credit. Warm-ups are an essential part of safe fitness practice and greatly reduce the risk of injuries. Students who are occasionally late are expected to forfeit a portion of the class ‘catching up’ with warm up and conditioning.

Open Sessions

Open sessions are strictly practice opportunities for students. There will be no teaching or formal instruction provided. Students are expected to practice skills which they have been previously instructed on and are expected to warm up and cool down and follow proper safety measures. Any student practicing in an unsafe manner may be asked to finish their session prematurely.

Crash Mats

Crash Mats are a mandatory safety feature and students are expected to comply with crash mat procedures when learning. The only time a crash mat is permitted to be removed is under 1) circumstances up to the instructor’s discretion, and 2) with the provision of a signed Liability Waiver for Crash Mat Removal.

Illnesses

The safety of our staff and clients is paramount, please do not attend classes if you are unwell. Please review this section for the latest update on studio policies and procedures. Students who have a close contact exposure to COVID-19 and other illnesses are asked to take the necessary precautions outlined by the province and respect the health and wellness of other students. Students arriving unwell may be asked to leave without refund. All studio equipment is disinfected between classes and students to reduce the spreading of illness.

Our policies are in place to ensure a high standard of quality as a business. Please read thoroughly.
